Five days of events showcasing Austin Startups and the people that make them happen.
September 6-10, 2011 marks the first Austin Startup Week. The startup community in Austin is banding together to create five days of events to encourage developers, marketers, UI/UXers, college students, recent graduates, investors and tech enthusiasts to check out Austin, meet new people, and learn about the exciting new things happening in our community.
Check out the full schedule of events here. We’re sponsoring Startup Crawl (not yet on the schedule), Big Data Love (Friday happy hour) and API Hackday (Saturday daytime hackathon). We’d love to meet you, so come to our events and be sure to say hi!
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of attending SXSW, you know that Austin is a weird and wonderful big-little city. Our spirit of collaboration and disruption has lead Austin to become an increasingly strong entrepreneurial hub (look out, SF!) that back in the 90s was lovingly nicknamed Silicon Hills.
Recently, Austin has been recognized as the best US city for young adults (Forbes) and the number one best city for the next decade (Kiplinger). We also boast the best BBQ in America, 300 days of sunshine a year and tons of startups looking to hire, including us.
Uh, so… why don’t you live here yet?
